What is a Seniors Real Estate Specialist?

I am an SRES, a Seniors Real Estate Specialist. My specific training and certification may be helpful to someone you know. Many people have bought and sold homes. However, I’m uniquely trained and certified to assist the seniors in our community of Sarasota and Bradenton, FL Selling a senior’s home can be more complex due to the number of unique issues and decisions – and sometimes the number of people involved. Though seniors usually make the decision to sell, it is not uncommon for adult children to help them sort through these questions: • Is moving the best alternative? If so, where? Have other options been explored? • Are close family members on board with a decision to sell? • What is the best way to downsize a lifetime’s worth of possessions and family heirlooms? • What is the tax-related implications of a sale? • What effects might a sale have on future income? The financial, logistical, and emotional issues involved in a move can be stressful for a family to navigate. Senior parents and their adult children may feel they are in unfamiliar waters as they deal with these questions. I have a large network of other Seniors Real Estate Specialist professionals available to help, too, if the senior parent is moving out of the area to be closer to family but still wants their own home. Adult children of recently deceased parents also have unique needs, and decisions to make. Sarasota is a retirement town but also a beach resort town. Family members may have questions about selling the estate's home and buying another property in the area that they can enjoy. I am also trained to assist these family members with their questions.
