Many homes here in Sarasota are sold turnkey furnished. They were second homes, vacation rentals, homes of a now deceased homeowner or home to someone that just doesn't want to move their stuff.
Buyers like to see staged homes for perspective (size of the room and what can fit in) but if the home is in need of cosmetic work or gutting, an empty house might sell faster.
It may be a better way to sell a home that is a cluttered mess, too. If the seller can move out before the home is listed, and take all of their stuff, buyers won't get hung up on the clutter and can see the blank canvas for their furnishing.
